Got thrown a curveball this morning, but still managed to hit a home run. Turned out to be a pretty damn good day. Our plans to go to the islands were foiled by Highwinds and rough seas. So we made a left-hand turn to some of our Plan B rockfish spots- and Plan B worked out and we shot into the coast and caught lots and lots of calico bass, sand bass and a couple of halibut.

Today we had one of those weather days where we did a right hand turn, headed up the coast and had some amazing rockfish fishing. Such a great Plan B. We actually caught some fish on slow pitch gear and of course the Bait. We’ve got some great weather coming up here. Good time to jump on the boat. We’ve got room for next week.

We just returned from another fantastic day of fishing at the Channel Islands. The rockfish really wanted to chew in the deeper water zone today. Shrimp flys, anchovies and squid all worked well. I’m guessing the jigs would have worked too but we didn’t have anyone fishing them. Our 15 anglers captured limits of rockfish (150), 1 rock sole and 1 jackpot winning lingcod.

Oh yeah one of those special days in gods country. Had a great day at SRI gorgeous weather and incredible fishing. We had full 20 fish bag limits today, giant whitefish, lots of rockfish, a few sheep head and some lingcod. We also had a school of bottlenose dolphins that followed us around all day.

Great day at the islands today fishing was really good. The weather was up a little bit but our anglers really did a good job catching fish. We had strong current, big swell and some breeze.
