Very interesting day today we caught our limit of rockfish and then went tuna fishing and caught a couple of very nice bluefin tuna. We also had a few casualties. No fault of anybody, the hook pulled. This is a first for me, catching bluefin tuna inside the Santa Barbara Channel, right in our backyard!
The Stardust is a go tomorrow with plenty of room. Both boats will be fishing for blue fin tomorrow. As long as the fish are out there, we will give it a shot on 3/4 day trips. Bring your HEAVY GEAR. 65 pound braid, 80 pound mono.

Another stellar day at the islands, start to finish very good fishing, both rockfish and whitefish and a handful of lingcod. They ate everything today. We even saw school of BLUEFIN TUNA in the channel!! We’ll see what tomorrow has in store. If I see those things tomorrow we’re gonna be properly armed to get them.

Good afternoon, Sal checking in after a great weekend of fishing the islands. We had a charter with boys scouts today and they got really nice bags of rockfish. We had great quality and everyone had a blast.

Very good private charter today. We looked at the weather report and we took a chance and went across and it worked out pretty good. Some days are like that. We started off with very very good fishing on many different kinds of rockfish. Also, we had a good whitefish bite mixed in with the rockfish today. With some lingcod everybody got what they needed and we headed for the barn. What a great day. our 18 anglers caught 180 rockfish 72 whitefish and 10 lingcod.

Different day today at the islands, extremely calm no current to speak of we had to make a few adjustments and then it was game on. Once again, using Bait is far superior to anything else not to see jigs and other lures weren’t working, but Bait was the key. Started off a little deeper this morning, with not much success because of the lack of current. Then we went in shallow and proceeded to put the wood to a huge variety of fish today.

After we got our rockfish we poked around and topped our bags off with big whitefish and a couple of exotics. We had perfect weather and conditions all day.

Classic day at the islands today very good fishing all the way around from start to finish. We started off with rockfish and a few lingcod then ended up in the whitefish area till everybody pretty much had their fill. Fish bit a little bit of everything today. Nothing too deep nothing too shallow. Beautiful day overall.

We had a little time after cod fishing and put some whitefish on the boat in a couple quick drifts to really load the bags. Oh yes, today was one of those extra special days were everything wanted to work out. Started off fishing rockfish. Fast and furious with a few lingcod then went to the whitefish grounds. Did one quick drift for 166 white fish and there were a couple of barracuda to go with it. I bet if you look at fish counts up and down the coast, fishing was extremely good for Southern California today. This is the time to get out here and get you some. Make sure you’ve got plenty of freezer space before you come out.
