Good afternoon, heading down the coast on our way home. We fished until the wind kicked us off the water. We had a mixed bag of rockfish, great day despite the conditions we were dealt.

Today we had an ominous forecast for increasing winds in the outer channel and islands. We opted for the sheltered waters of the upper Gaviota Coast. Our first stop netted us more than half of what we needed for rockfish. We moved west some and fished a shear pinnacle in about 160 feet of water, Wolf Rock. Sure enough we did catch a wolf eel, and another SoCal exotic, a greenling, releasing both. A final spot nearby finished up our rockfish limits, and being a long way from the dock, our day too. Plus the wind did come up, but up there, no sea with it. We're on our way home now.

240 rockfish, lots of variety. including 40 bolina and even almost as many sugars.

Good afternoon, heading in from the islands. We had a charter today and they wanted to go for lingcod and big rockfish and that’s what we did. We were just shy of limits of big reds and just shy on limits of rockfish. Everyone is taking a home a jumbo bag of fish and very happy.
