Flat calm water at the Islands!
We are in our way home from a beautiful day of fishing at Santa Rosa island. The ocean was absolutely flat today with 3-5 knots of breeze. Fishing the deeps proved to be a bit scratchy this morning and not worth the unusually high amount of tangles we experienced so I opted to run in a bit shallower...We had fair to steady scratch fishing in 30-40 fathoms of water on nice reds, coppers, and a few lingcod.
Our 20 anglers today caught 37 reds, 149 copper rockfish ('chuckleheads'), 14 misc. rockfish, and 10 lingcod.
The Coral Sea has a 3/4 day trip scheduled for Tuesday and the Stardust is running a 1/2 day trip as well so please call Sea Landing at 805-963-3564 and make your reservations today.
