Nice load of people headed out on an awesome 1/2 day trip along the Santa Barbara coast today and are going home with big bags of fish. It was a little chilly and gloomy, but our group mostly from the Elks Lodge had no problem sticking it out. The bite picked up towards the afternoon so we stayed out a little bit later. It was a slow pic but once the bite heated up it wouldn't stop.
34 anglers, 186 Rockfish, 1 Lingcod, 9 Sheephead, 4 Sculpin, 118 Red Rockfish, 4 Sand Bass. We got into a nice grade of rockfish mixed with sheephead, and even some sand bass for the guys working the surface.
Both the Stardust and the Coral Sea are shut down for Thursday and Friday's trips due to weather. The Stardust is privately chartered Saturday, so the Coral Sea is running a 3/4 day trip. On Sunday the Stardust is 3/4 day fishing and the Coral Sea is 1/2 day fishing. All trips are a go and still have some room. Please call the sea landing for reservations 805-963-3564
