Coral Sea 3/4 day report 3.18.19

Posted On: Mar 18, 2019 at 11:22 PM

Good afternoon, we’re heading in from a great day over at the islands. Ventured a bit further today with flat calm seas and it payed off. We started fairly shallow and it was biting right away. We threw on some nice ocean whitefish and handfuls of decent rockfish on our first few stops.

Mid morning we hit one spot that bent the boat and we threw on a lot of fish in a short time which was really fun for everyone involved. We also managed to pick Lingcod off the occasional spot and some great sheepshead as well, one weighed in on the scale around 14lbs.

After reaching our whitefish limits we went out deeper and found it to be slow but the fish we did get were great quality coppers. The best bait today was by far the squid strips.

For our 25 passengers we ended up with 190 rockfish, 250 ocean whitefish, 4 sheepshead and 6 Lingcod.

The Coral Sea still has room on its 3/4 day trip Wednesday and tons of room on it’s 1/2 day trips Thursday and Friday so book your spots now through our website or call the Sea landing at 805-963-3564
