We had an awesome private charter group today and with a decent weather forecast we ran for Santa Rosa island targeting rockfish in the deeper water first thing. Our morning was the slowest part of the day but we still managed a steady pick on nice reds and coppers with some lingcod mixed in.

Our group stayed patient and stuck to it all day and it really paid off in the afternoon. We had a slight current change and with some longer drifts we really put on a lot of fish in a short time. We finished up our rockfish limits with a small chunk of time to go looks for whitefish in the shallows but could not meter anything noteworthy and called it a day.

For our 19 anglers we caught 190 rockfish, and 12 lingcod. Special thanks to the sportfishingreport.com guys for putting together these awesome trips.
