Stardust 3/4 day 7.21.17
July 21, 3/4-day, Stardust,
This morning it was a toss-up whether we had the weather for Rosa. But from the determined look of the group, the choice was clear, and across the pond we went. Though the crossing was a little swelly at times, we had no wind really, and the first couple of hours were very nice. Two stops kicked out all the lings we could handle, limits for 29, and our 2 trainees, plus a bunch of mondo coppers, and mega grouper. From there we kept one step ahead of the advancing afternoon breeze, picking off the remainder of limits of rockfish, and a bonus of 67 ocean whitefish from the shallows. Most were 2 pounders or so, but we got a few monster ones in the mix too. Final tally for our 29 folks was 290 rockfish, 1 sheephead, 67 OWF and 58 lings.
