His son Michael has been keeping the tradition alive every year for awhile now. We had some bumpy weather so we decided to stay shallow all day at the islands. We put together an excellent day with big fat bags!!! Very steady fishing with great quality.

We had a super fun day fishing the Channel Islands. Started off in deeper water catching some quality groupers, reds and assorted rockfish. We then moved into the shallow waters in search of whitefish and boy did we find some that wanted to bite. If you didn’t get a bite the second you reached bottom something happened to your bait on the way down. Our 25 anglers captured 250 whitefish, 3 lingcod, 2 sheepshead and 230 assorted rockfish.

We left the island a little early but not a shortage of fish. Overall a great day and an awesome weekend. We are not running tomorrow/Monday but we room this coming week, fishing has been awesome.
