Great day at the Islands

Posted On: Apr 08, 2016 at 11:07 PM

Coming back in today with 18 happy anglers on board after enjoying beautiful flat calm weather and productive fishing throughout the day. We started our day in the deeper water and despite very challenging conditions with the strong current put together a nice morning on great quality Reds and Coppers.

We managed about 100 mixed Rockfish for our first 2 hours of fishing, then went looking in the shallower water anywhere from 90- 140 feet. Spending about an hour in there with very little success we moved up towards Santa Rosa and into 230-250 feet. Strong current made for short drifts and our people worked very well with one another to stay out of tangles and scratched out the rest of our on nice 2- 2.75 lb Coppers and a few more Lingcod as well.

Our 18 persistent anglers are coming home with 41 Reds, 116 Nice Coppers , 21 assorted Rockfish and 10 Lingcod.

The Stardust is chartered tomorrow and the Coral Sea Is running a 3/4 Day with one spot left at the moment. There is room on both the Stardust 3/4 Day on Sunday as well as the 1/2 Day on the Coral Sea as well. Call the Sea Landing at 805 963-3564 to make a reservation on either boat.
